Omar Jammoul is a Syrian-Spanish musician based in Málaga , Spain.
In 2021, Omar obtained a prestigious Master´s Degree in Interpretation of Classical Guitar from Universidad de Alicante, Spain, where he worked with world leading classical guitarists including David Russell, Hopkinson Smith, Roberto Aussel, Ignacio Rodes, Xavier Díaz Latorre, Tilman Hoppstock, and Ricardo Gallen
In 2015, he receieved a Superior´s Degree of Classical Guitar Performance from the Royal Conservatory Superior of Music of Granada and the Conservatory Superior of music of Málaga, working with David Martínez, and in 2009, a Bachelor`s Degree of Music from the Higher Institute of Music of Damascus, Syria.
Omar majored in Interpretation of Classical Guitar, with Mazen Saleh, and in Harmony as a second major with Victor Babinco. Following on from his study in Harmony, Omar co-authored and published a book: ´´Musical Theories and Harmony´´ 2011.This book has been published by the Ministry of Culture in Syria and is considered an official study material for all levels.
Since 2003, Omar has attended master classes with many maestros of classical guitar, composition, and conducting such as: Pepe Romero, Sergio Assad, Joaquín Clerch, Leo Brouwer, Stefan Holl, and Sylvan Gasançon.
From an early age Omar began to perform concerts as a soloist, chamber musician, and with symphony orchestras in various cities in Syria, Spain, Germany and the Netherlands.
After winning the Laboratory of Arts Scholarship Award of Ettijahat Foundation in 2017, Omar recorded his first album ¨Syrian Composers´Works on the Clasical Guitar¨, which contains his own compositions and transcriptions.
Since 2005, he teaches guitar and harmony classes at various institutes and universities in Syria and Spain, and is regularly invited to give masterclasses in conservatories and schools across Spain.
